I am experienced as an international arbitration lawyer, specialising in representing both corporations and governments in international arbitration cases. I've worked both in advising on pre-dispute, conducting arbitrations and post-hearing and enforcement proceedings.

Representation

  • German company in ICC arbitration in contractual dispute over the construction of an LNG Terminal
  • Republic of Kazakhstan in global enforcement proceedings of an arbitral award under the Energy Charter Treaty in Stati et al. v. Kazakhstan, SCC Case No. V 116/2010
  • Government of Mongolia in WM Mining Company, LLC v. Mongolia, ICSID Case No. ARB/21/8
  • Government of Mongolia in major copper-gold mining dispute against a British-Australian mining corporation
  • German investor in multiple ICC arbitrations against Russian-owned joint stock company over contractual dispute over natural gas pipeline in Europe

Advisory

  • Various corporations on contract disputes, governmental expropriation, bilateral investment treaties, the status of intra-EU BIT claims in the wake of the Achmea decision, and various investment treaties and the Energy Charter Treaty
